About us
German Water Partnership (GWP) is the only network in the German water sector with an international focus. Around 300 companies, trade associations and institutions from business, science and research aim to establish German expertise and quality worldwide and to strengthen the position of the German water industry in international markets.
Your Gateway to German Water Expertise and to Global Impact
GWP acts as the focal point for foreign trade initiatives within the German water sector, facilitating connections between businesses, governmental bodies, and administrative entities.
Our core objectives include nurturing networks, advocating for the interests of our German member companies, and coordinating projects globally in partnership with key stakeholders, including the German government.
From promoting international trade to fostering economic and development cooperation, our endeavours are guided by two fundamental principles: enhancing the competitiveness of German foreign trade and making sustainable progress in addressing the urgent global challenges of water management – one of the most significant ecological, economic, and social imperatives of our time.
Our Commitment: Solutions You Can Trust
At GWP, we leverage 150 years of collective expertise in water supply and wastewater management. Our members are industry leaders, offering tailored, energy-efficient solutions with a focus on longevity and sustainability. From concept to operation, we ensure quality, affordability, and reliability in every project we undertake.
We look forward to seeing you at the German Pavilion at IFAT Africa 2025!

Water Security in Africa (WASA)
The WASA research programme aims to contribute to achieving a sustainable increase in water security in Africa. This includes the improvement of water supply and wastewater management as well as the preservation of natural ecosystems. The guiding principles behind the WASA programme are to enable joint action by African and German partners from the very start of the project, adopt a synergistic and integrated approach involving different ministries and political representatives as well as the pursuit of a long-term implementation strategy.
