URT Umwelt- und Recyclingtechnik GmbH (URT) was founded by the owners and managing directors, Peter Heßler and Thomas Gundersdorf in 1995. The business unit of URT includes engineering, manufacturing, sales and service of recycling plants for electric and electronic scrap (WEEE) and plants for disposal and recycling of end-of-life cooling devices. URT is also offering treatment systems for printed circuit boards (PCB), flat screen disassembly lines with mercury filtration, plants for cathode ray tube separation (CRT) as well as treatment systems for toner cartridges. The European regulation WEEE (Waste of Electric and Electronical Equipment) forms the basis and guideline for these plants. During the past 10 years URT has turned from a European into a worldwide supplier of WEEE-plants and has references in Europe, South-America, North-America, Asia and the Middle East. URT is supported by representatives in Turkey, Spain, Brazil and China.
For more than 20 years URT has been manufacturing systems for the disposal of cooling units. The recovery and liquefaction of the propellants and refrigerants in the disposal plants have become established processes in Europe during this period. The treatment covers shredding, sorting and separation of ferrous, non-ferrous-metals and plastics and the isolation-foam.
URT is engineering and constructing recycling plants for small domestic appliances. Under the heading “small domestic appliances”, we summarize all end-of-life household appliances, like vacuum cleaners, microwaves and coffee machines. The process covers shredding, sorting and separation of the different output fractions, where the plants reach highest purities. We are experienced in the treatment of hessites waste and our plants are fulfilling all environmental requirements.
With the URT cathode ray tube separation device, type CRT, the so-called heat wire technology, front- and cone glasses of the cathode ray tube can be separated from each other. The fluorescent layer, which could be contaminated, will be manually removed by the integrated vacuum cleaner, after opening the cathode ray tube. Subsequently the different types of glasses and the separated metal parts are transported to a further reutilisation.
